Mary “Meg” Keaney

Employment Litigation Attorney

Mary “Meg” Keaney is a contract attorney, currently working primarily in plaintiff-side employment litigation.

Meg received her J.D., cum laude, from UC Hastings College of Law in 2011. She is a recipient of both the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, as well as the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence. Meg was Senior Symposium Editor for the Hastings Law Journal, collaborating with faculty and the ABA to present roundtable discussions of proposed revisions to the Criminal Justice Standards on the Prosecution and Defense Function. She also published a student note in the flagship journal addressing the Judicial Committee’s opposition to pending consumer protection legislation.

While enrolled in law school, Meg served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Illston of the Northern District of California and worked for the Code Enforcement team at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. Prior to law school, Meg worked in a variety of community organizer roles, including two terms with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps in the Southeast and Western regions. Meg also spent two years as a Project Manager for KaBOOM!, a national non-profit dedicated to creating great play spaces through the participation and leadership of communities throughout America.

Meg grew up in a suburb of Boston and moved to Northern California in 2003. She currently resides in San Francisco.
